The whole process

I thought I might just give an explanation of how things are going and what the process is from here on out for those who are wondering.

So, we became a "waiting family" just before Christmas. This technically means that we are ready for a baby at any moment from here on out. The agency has an office here in Hillsboro, one in Seattle and another in Chicago. They work with birth moms from all those areas. When they feel like we might be what a birth mom is looking for they present us with the info they have on the situation, which is usually quite detailed. We then respond whether we are open to the situation or not. Then the birth mom is presented with profiles on the families that want to be considered. She selects one to meet with and if everything feels right for her they've got a match. Since the beginning of the year we have been shown to about 7 birth moms. Three have already chosen other lucky families and the other 4 are still looking.

So that's how it works. We're pretty hopeful that we'll be one of those lucky families soon. The boys are so excited and pray every night for a baby to come to our family. So far it's been a wonderful journey and we look forward to bringing that precious little bundle home.
